Domaine and
vineyard
The history of the Domaine Le Roc and that of RIBES family go hand in hand. Former family estate fell into disrepair, returns to new vit ring in 1981 when Jean Luc, bluesman and winemaker, takes the reins to bring it back to life.
The Domaine is located in the AOC Fronton area, set between Toulouse, the Garonne and the Tarn, on a terroir of boulbenes and pebbles. Since 1981 a culture of grassing uncontrolled and respect for nature to the maximum in the vineyard are the creed of this winegrower. In winter the sheep to take care of the herbs between the rows and for the rest of the interventions are minimal, but without falling under aélcun protocol.
Not only Negrette, distinctive varietal AOC Fronton, but also Sauvignon and Syrah are grown to domaine, all with an average density of 5000 feet per hectare and resulting yields of 50 hl / ha.

The wine
The Domaine Le Roc NEUTRAL NOIRE On Ambat is a Negrette in purity. The vines are planted at a density of 5000 feet / ha and with yields of 50 hl / ha. After harvesting done by hand and pressing the grapes are placed by gravity in vats of small size which allows better control of temperature stability. The wine then goes into barrels 20hl for 8-10 months for maturation.

Food and wine pairings
Appetizers, dishes of meats and cheeses; but also filet mignon of pork and poultry in sauce.
Another grape variety unknown to me. And another nice wine, perfect for an aperitif, with cold meats and cheeses. The wine is young, a lively purple color, not prone to aging and able to combine hints of red fruits and smoked. The part is more pronounced in the smoky taste that smell.
Basically an honest wine, at a very competitive price.
