The Domaine d'Emile et Rose was founded in 2004 by the will of Caroline and Marcel Gisclard. The
name pays tribute to grandparents of Caroline, winegrowers in
Cornailhan, near Beziers, and founders of this family saga that has
arrived now in its fourth generation. Grandparents have grown vignati throughout their lives and have
continued to buy small parcels whenever the opportunity presented
itself, until you reach the current 9.50 hectares.Caroline
was in the vineyard with parents and grandparents from a young age and
viticulture has been a natural outlet for his life. Marcel was more to life before his journey is incrociasse with that of Caroline, and with the world of wine. Marcel is passionate, is among the first to go to Georgia to study their viticulture and winemaking techniques. The Domaine stretches between the sea and the town of Beziers, on a predominantly sandy soil. In the vineyard they follow the principles of organic and biodynamic with a strong push towards the production of natural wines.
The wine
The Domaine d'Emile et Rose La Potion de Marcel is a blend of all in both white and red grape varieties grown on the farm. The wine is made in the manner of pitcher Georgian wines. The wine is left to decant and possibly be decanted two hours before tasting. Being an "experiment" we do not find even the vintage indicated on the label and the website does not mention this wine domaine.

Food and wine pairings
White meat, sweet and sour dishes made with duck or rabbit. Also try with smoked cheeses.
It is an experiment, both in terms of selection of varieties to be used both for the wine-making technique. The wine has a garnet color, quite matt, almost translucent. The olfactory sensations are very light, the scents of rose and a sweet glaze reminiscent of the resin. In the mouth the wine is fresh and leaves a nice sensation of sweetness in the mouth (still rose in the final). pretty weak body, a light wine.
I dare not make comparisons with Burgundy, as read about, but for me it is a light wine, table wine, without a specificity of its own. And with a price quite important.
